Yeti Kentucky Bluegrass
Kentucky bluegrass is the most widely produced turf grass at Bigfoot Turf and one of the most common types of grasses in Colorado. Our YETI™ Grass is a blend of four different Kentucky bluegrass cultivars that are hand-selected for success in Colorado’s growing region. The base of this Kentucky bluegrass is made with a durable seed nicknamed “The Root Monster”. This blend is equal in balance and will provide a drought-tolerant, wear-resistant, disease-resistant bluegrass product that thrives in both shade and full sun. This fine-bladed, foot-friendly grass is a great option for both yards and athletic fields.
Thermal Blue
Thermal Blue is one of the highest-rated, fastest rooting drought-tolerant bluegrasses available. Thermal Blue was developed by taking Texas bluegrass, which traditionally had the characteristics of being an extremely drought tolerant turf of marginal quality, and crossing it with Kentucky bluegrass, an aesthetically pleasing turf grass with moderate drought tolerance. The result of this cross is a hybrid bluegrass that tolerates heat better than traditional bluegrass varieties.
Thermal blue has a medium green color and a fine leaf blade. It establishes very quickly and has the ability to fill in damaged or worn areas. If water conservation is an important part of your lawn care routine, thermal blue is ideal for homes and areas with water restrictions.
Salt Tolerant PH-10
This is a salt-tolerant turf grass designed by Bigfoot Turf specifically for projects with high salt content soils or water sources. This is a blend of Kentucky bluegrass, Creeping Red Fescue, and Perennial Rye Grass. PH-10 is a great option for those who battle growing conditions with high salt content either from the soil or from well water sources.
The ideal soil pH is 7.0, referred to as neutral, but even a tiny fluctuation can make a huge difference in your soil’s salinity level. We recommend testing your soil first and if it is above an 8.5 pH level, PH-10 is a good fit for your lawn.
Turf Type Fescue
Turf type fescue is a deep-rooted turf grass that maintains a deep green color from early spring to late fall. This is a drought-tolerant and disease-resistant turf grass that performs well in sun and shade. Because of its deep root system, turf type fescue requires less frequent irrigations and once established, has more efficient utilization of storm and winter stored water.
Fescue has a “coarser” feel than bluegrass and is tough and wears well. The dynamics of a deep root system and improvements in breeding make turf type fescue a drought tolerant, disease resistant turf that has the ability to maintain green color year-round. If you’re looking for an extremely durable and low maintenance sod product, look no further.
