Edging and Realignment
Most people tend to think that edging is purely cosmetic but there are many more benefits to edging. Edging is a very important task when it comes to keeping the appearance of the field as well as making sure a dangerous lip does not develop. Edging helps break up the dirt and clay that has accumulated near the edge of the grass in order to prevent a the lip from forming. It also stops grass over growth and thus improves the look of your field.
These practices can lead to easier maintenance of the field. Over time the widths of the base paths may have changed, the radius on the pitcher’s mound and/or home plate may have changed, this is when we recommend realignment procedures. This practice will bring all of your field dimensions back to their proper measurements.
